MINNEAPOLIS — Cooler air is moving in Wednesday, making it feel more like October in Minnesota.
The day will start cloudy and turn sunny, with highs topping out in the 50s, which is around average for this time of year.
Wednesday also marks the 34th consecutive day without any measurable precipitation in the Twin Cities, tying a streak that occurred between February and March. But that all ends on Thursday.
Temperatures will reach into the 60s on Thursday as clouds thicken up. Rain will likely arrive in the metro by late afternoon or early evening with between 0.10-0.5 inches expected to fall.
Cool days and nights, including a chance of frost, return on Friday and Saturday before temps warm back into the 70s Sunday through Tuesday.
Next week’s rain chance is uncertain. It could come together to provide a good dose of rain, or the system may get its act together just a bit too far south and east to matter much.
Minnesota’s drought update comes out on Thursday, but don’t expect any good news.
